Regulation of Alarm Systems as authorized by the Texas Local Government Code 233.092 and Administered by the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office, effective December 13, 2011, mandates any Residence or Business operating a monitored Security Alarm System, located within Unincorporated Fort Bend County, shall register and renew the Security Alarm System each year.

Who is required to have an alarm permit?
Any Residence or Business within Unincorporated Fort Bend County (locations outside the city limits), having an active burglar alarm system that is intended to summon Law Enforcement is required to obtain an alarm permit.
This includes, but is not limited to: apartments, houses, condos, businesses, stores, churches, warehouses, storage buildings, and offices.
Government buildings are exempt from paying the permit fee; however, they must still register the alarm system.
